Analog Design

I’m not what I would consider “crafty.” I don’t scrapbook or own a rubber stamp, but I do like to be creative away from my computer screens. While I haven’t succeeded at Designing Something Everyday, I have been using other mediums recently. I sewed some new throw pillows for my screen porch. I planted my five pots of annual flowers for my deck. I designed the birthday invitations for my son’s party (OK, so that was digital, but a non-typical genre). Next on my list: a paper wreath. Time to make a trip to Good Will for an old book.
What have you created lately that isn’t digital? Tell us about it or post a link in the comments or bring it to the next Asterisk* Lunch.

I am not going to be able to make it Tuesday (I am leading a book group in my son’s class every Tuesday), but I am totally going to make that wreath! Love it! Thanks for sharing – I can see making it with tissue or wrapping paper for different seasons too, or in different sizes/shapes like a square one. Oh the possibilities! Have fun making yours!
Jen – We’ll miss you on Tuesday. Have fun with your son’s book group. One with wrapping paper would be fun. Take a look at this wreath, which might work even better with 1-sided paper.
Is this picture displayed above the one you created? It’s beautiful! How did it go? Do you have any suggestions/instructions or any finished pictures?
Jenna – This isn’t a photo of one that I created — I haven’t actually made mine yet. I have all the parts sitting here in my office. I just need to assemble it. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll sit on the deck and actually get to it. I’ll post any tips once I’m done.
